A global financial services client is looking for an experienced Flight Payout SME to work with a leading travel sector end client on a large scale project. This is an inside IR35 contract role working 2-3 days on site per week in central London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payment Strategy & Commercial Enablement
    Serve as the go-to expert for all flight-related payout matters, particularly airline settlement mechanisms. Define, refine, and support the execution of a strategic flight payments roadmap aligned with customer behaviours and market trends.
  • Opportunity Discovery
    Identify gaps and develop robust business cases to optimize payment processes. Drive cross-functional execution to remove friction points impacting revenue and customer experience (NPS).
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    Collaborate with Product, Tech, Finance, Legal, Risk, and external PSPs to deliver scalable, compliant solutions and enhancements.
  • Risk & Compliance Advisory
    Provide business-oriented advice on regulatory impacts (SCA, PSD2, PCI DSS, IATA guidelines) and industry standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in the payments ecosystem, with a strong focus on the airline or flights industry.
  • Deep understanding of airline-specific payment flows (e.g., GDS, NDC, BSP/ARC, interline).
  • Expertise in virtual credit card (VCC) acceptance and other flight payment instruments.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to build business cases that support strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent cross-functional stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using data to uncover insights, assess performance, and drive improvements.
