Green Label Poultry is seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Manager to oversee operations at our high-welfare, commercial duck production unit. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a progressive team on a farm committed to sustainable practices and premium poultry production.
About The Role
As Farm Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of a commercial duck farm, ensuring optimal bird health, welfare, and performance in line with Green Label standards. You’ll lead a team and manage all aspects of the farm, from biosecurity and feed management to staffing and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, supervise and assist with all daily farm operations including feeding, watering, ventilation, and general stock care.
- Monitor duck health and welfare, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and biosecurity.
- Keep accurate records on bird performance, mortality, and medication usage.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g., Red Tractor, environmental, health and safety).
- Train, and manage farm staff to deliver peak performance.
- Work closely with senior management to meet production targets and implement continuous improvement.
- Carry out evening checks of site, when required.
- Monitor stock control of farm supplies.
- Maintain all aspects of company policy on site (as per Company Handbook).
- To carry out any other tasks relating to poultry farming as the company may reasonably require.
Requirements
- Proven experience in poultry or livestock management (duck experience preferred).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- A commitment to high welfare and sustainable farming practices.
- Good understanding of farm compliance, biosecurity, and record-keeping.
- Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and make sound decisions.
- Good knowledge of health and safety protocol and a proactive approach to near miss/accident reporting.
- An excellent attitude towards Full UK driving licence.
- To be willing to complete an NVQ level 3 in poultry production.

Job Type: Permanent
Hours per week: 39 Hours per week
Working Times: Monday to Thursday 07:30am to 04:00pm, Friday 3pm finish, either a Saturday or Sunday morning and occasionally back for PM checks on these days.
Pay Rate: Competitive salary depending on experience, progression routes available as training is completed, and the role taken on.
Own transport is essential due to the remote location.
