Conrad Consulting are delighted to be working closely with a well established Architectural practice based in Northampton, seeking to recruit a Principal Designer & CDM Advisor to their growing team.

THE PRACTICE: As one of the longest standing and most successful practices in the Northampton area, the practice pride themselves on their well established client portfolio, featuring in both public and private sectors. With a team of close to 30 Architectural professionals that includes talented and passionate Architects, Technologists and Architectural Assistants, the practice offers a personal approach throughout the whole construction process. Projects vary from small to large scale with values ranging from 100k-100m, but their enthusiasm for design and detail is consistent regardless of project size. Sectors vary and include; Logistics, Education, Industrial, Office/Workplace, Mixed Use, Residential and more. The practice are continuing to take on both Principal Designer and Building Regs instructions and it’s an area of the business that is growing. They are now in a great position to appoint a Principal Designer & CDM Advisor to their team.

Key duties of the Principal Designer & CDM Advisor include:

  • Developing and reviewing essential CDM documentation for various construction projects
  • Providing comprehensive Health and Safety support and guidance within the organization
  • Leading the Building Safety Act Working Group and contributing to company-wide policies
  • Expanding services to ensure sustainable growth and success
  • Offering CDM, Health and Safety, and Fire Safety services across different projects and sectors
  • Conducting training on CDM, Fire Safety, and Health and Safety for internal design teams
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications for the role include:

  • Background in Architecture preferred
  • NEBOSH qualification with IOSH chartership
  • Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Problem-solving abilities and client relationship management skills
  • Knowledge of APS membership and proficiency in Microsoft Suite

The successful candidate can expect a salary range of 55,000 - 65,000, CPD opportunities, and other company benefits.
