Cobbs Garden Surgery is a traditional, family-doctor service with a strong culture of teamwork. We are a tight-knit team who are very supportive of each other. We value input and suggestions from any members of our team with the view to making changes for the future development of the practice.

We are looking to welcome a GP who shares these values to join our team in either a salaried role or with a view to partnership, for which development support will be provided. Flexible to hours, we are happy to offer full-time or part-time options. We value each of our staff members as an integral part of a team helping to shape the future of the practice and the care we provide.

We aim to create a positive working environment for all our staff and provide support to become a GP partner with mentoring from the partners. Increased appointment times initially while you learn the practice systems and referral pathways, which will then reduce to 15, then to 10 minutes. Buddy system - linked with a senior GP at the practice with protected time booked for regular mentoring/de-briefing meetings. Opportunity to design your own sessions, allowing you the flexibility to choose when your admin time is booked. 6 weeks' annual leave and 1 week's study leave (WTE) pro rata if part-time. Opportunities for developing a specialist interest. Free staff parking. Staff discount scheme that can be used for household purchases, holidays, etc.

Main duties of the job: We are looking for someone who wants to develop their role in the daily clinical management of our varied clinical team to provide a caring and professional service to our predominantly older population. You will be a valued and integral part of the team, helping shape the future of the team, practice, and care provided.

About us: Cobbs Garden Surgery looks after the residents of Olney and serves the surrounding villages. The practice population is expanding due to new developments in the town and villages, which will see our list size grow from just under 9,000 patients to around 12,000 over the next few years. We maintain a close partnership with the Bedfordshire, Luton, and Milton Keynes Training Hub. Our aim is to provide comprehensive training and development opportunities to our staff, fostering growth within the NHS Primary Care community. We offer diverse training options, including health and well-being benefits, including funded access to the ShinyMind app, offering daily support for well-being and resilience. Support from the Training Hub GP Workforce Leads. We have strong relationships with our Patient Participation Group, Town Council, and local charity, Olney is Kind, which raises money to support the surgery. Our current CQC rating is good, with an outstanding rating for responsiveness. Our multidisciplinary team includes experienced clinicians who handle much of the workload from the GPs.

Person Specification: Experience understanding of clinical governance and quality issues, understanding the role of teamwork in providing quality services, excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, face-to-face, and active listening skills, recognition of people's need for alternative communication methods and responding accordingly, an interest in training new or established doctors would help our aim to become a training practice, experience using SystmOne is preferred.

Qualifications: Full registration with the GMC, eligible to work immediately as a GP in the UK, on NHS GP performers list.
