The hiring company is one of the largest and most reputable consultancies in the UK. One of the key selling points of this role is that you would be delivering end-to-end procurement services to some of the larger brands and on the most exciting programmes and projects. You will deliver services to public and private sector clients with a focus on central and local government, defence, infrastructure, power and utilities. The Associate Procurement Director will lead a highly skilled team of strategic procurement professionals. The employer encourages a hybrid method of working to provide a great work/life balance.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide specialist procurement strategy advice to Public and Private sector clients.
- Lead and manage end to end procurement services on major projects or programmes.
- Lead and support the development of the procurement services.
- Lead and develop a team to achieve successful outcomes for our clients.
- Managing client relationships and related commission outputs and deliverables.
- Lead and support business development and marketing of the Contract Services team’s service proposition.
- Lead on bid preparation and proposal documentation and support the work winning capability of the contract services division.
- Support the delivery of both team and wider business targets.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience in and/or knowledge of regulated procurement, in particular Public Contract Regulations 2015 with an awareness and potential changes to the public procurement regime.
- Previous experience in leading strategic major procurement projects or programmes for Public and Private sector clients.
- A strong background in tender preparation, development and management ideally including negotiation.
- Commission, client relationship, and people management experience.
- Experience of developing and using various forms of contracts with particular focus on NEC and JCT.
- Cross sector experience with a strong public procurement background is highly desirable, including experience working in Defence, Utilities, Infrastructure (roads, rail), Mining, Oil & Gas sectors.
- Security Clearance would be ideal.
- Ability to lead and develop key strategies and documentation for major procurement projects that complies with Public Sector Regulations or equivalent.
- Able to manage and supervise the delivery of others for a successful outcome.
- Able to build strong, professional client relationships and proactively identify and resolve client’s issues.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Preferably a degree related to construction, civil engineering, quantity surveying, law or procurement.
- MCIPS accreditation achieved – or is working/willing to work towards MCIPS accreditation.
