Job Summary
An exciting opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the Secure Services Directorate at Langdon Hospital. Experienced RMN with completed preceptorships required. The team comprises Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Physical Activity workers and Peer Support Workers. The secure services can be challenging but highly rewarding. We adopt a recovery approach with a holistic view of care and expect you to lead and inspire colleagues to deliver care that supports patients on the road to recovery.
Relocation

Job Responsibilities
- Complete psychosocial assessments.
- Promote social inclusion.
- Develop independence and maximise social, functional and self‑management skills.
- Enhance involvement of families, friends and carers and ensure partnership working.
- Develop treatment packages focusing on recovery and regaining independence.
- Demonstrate specific examples of improved patient care and influence of teams.
- Adopt a recovery approach with holistic care of the entire person.
- Support transition as preceptees attend the DPT Preceptorship programme.
- Communicate confidently, interact with diverse stakeholders and make independent decisions.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Qualified RMN with current professional registration.
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems.
- Training and knowledge in at least one therapeutic intervention, with willingness to obtain further qualifications.
- Training and experience in Manual Handling, First Aid, Food Handling, MHA and administration of medications.
Experience (Essential)
- Previous employment or experience working with people in a caring situation and dealing with the public.
- Past leadership experience and shift coordination.
- Ability to generate ideas for activities.
- Interest in a wide range of people and personalities.
- Effective team worker and proven team player.
- Life skills and a mature outlook suitable for a robust health‑care environment.
- Good IT computer skills.
- Ability to supervise others and provide constructive feedback.
Experience (Desirable)
- Previous care experience with individuals who have suffered mental health difficulties.
- Mentorship training and willingness to obtain qualifications.
- Other professional development.
