RT Quaife Engineering Ltd is a well-established engineering company based in Kent, with over 50 years of experience. We specialise in providing powertrain solutions to the motorsport industry, controlling the entire process from design to manufacture in-house. Our modern facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to ensure we remain at the forefront of our field. Our new project aims to build one of the fastest two-seater cars in the world. Designed over the past three years with meticulous in-house development, every component has been carefully engineered for optimal performance and weight reduction, including custom parts such as the chassis, uprights, gearbox, engine, wheels, and more. The car will initially compete in the UK Time Attack, a less regulated championship allowing for innovative design and development.
The basic specifications include:
- Engine: Bespoke Twin Turbo Hartly V8 with over 900bhp
- Electronics: Full Motec control with multiple sensors
- Transmission: 6-speed paddleshift Quaife transaxle
- Suspension: Multimatic 5-way adjustable dampers
- Brakes: Full carbon/carbon bespoke from Brembo
- Body: 15CDV6 tubular chassis with full carbon body and crash boxes
- Uprights: Full billet aluminium with ceramic bearings
- Aero: Over 3000kgs of downforce
- Wheels: Custom OZ Racing
We aim to showcase our capabilities beyond traditional markets, with the potential to participate in international events. The car will be built in a new facility dedicated to this project. The successful candidate will leverage their experience to assist in building and developing the vehicle.
Role Responsibilities:
- General maintenance of development vehicles
- Full build and preparation of the car
- Removal and installation of gearboxes
- Supervise and execute car setup and adjustments
- Collaborate with engineers on setup changes
- Provide trackside support
- Maintain records of all car parts for each event
Capabilities Required:
- Minimum 10 years of motorsport experience
