Construction Assistant\\n\\nContract Length: 6 months\\nLocation: Oxford\\nPay Rate to Candidate: £380 per day (Umbrella)\\n\\nRole Summary\\n\\nWe require a Construction Assurance Specialist to ensure works are completed to a high standard, on schedule, and in compliance with Network Rail standards. The role involves proactive issue resolution, quality inspections, and adherence to key NR standards, including:\\n\\n * NR/L2/RSE/CONM/001 – Construction Management for Projects\\n\\n * NR/L2/MTC/089 – Asset Data Exchange & Maintenance (AMP)\\n\\n * NR/L2/P3M/201 – Project Acceleration (PACE)\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\n * Conduct inspections, documentation, and quality assurance of construction activities.\\n\\n * Verify workmanship and quality against specifications, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and QMS documentation.\\n\\n * Support in-situ testing, liaising with site labs and the Quality Manager.\\n\\n * Identify defects, halt works if necessary, and assist in rapid resolution (including NCRs).\\n\\n * Assist in witnessing tests, reviewing ITPs, and maintaining quality records.\\n\\n * Develop quality checklists to ensure compliance across all construction activities.\\n\\n * Collaborate with the project team to optimise quality and productivity.\\n\\n * Liaise with designers and client supervisors to resolve issues.\\n\\n * Promote health and safety compliance on-site.\\n\\n * Monitor progress to ensure on-schedule delivery.\\n\\nRequired Qualifications & Experience\\n\\n * PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification (mandatory).\\n\\n * Proven experience in heavy civils construction within rail.\\n\\n * Strong knowledge of:\\n\\n * Specification for Highway Works\\n\\n * Construction quality standards\\n\\n * Rail industry quality practices\\n\\nThe partnering concept promoted by Vital means that we work together with candidates and clients\\nto achieve your career and recruitment objectives.
