Sewell Wallis are currently recruiting for an experienced Credit Control Team Leader to join a well-established company based in Leeds City Centre. This is a great opportunity to join this West Yorkshire business, where you can really grow with the business and develop and progress, long term wise.

In this Credit Controller Team Leader role, you will be responsible for overseeing the credit control team, ensuring the efficient collection of outstanding monies, and maintaining strong working relationships with business clients by delivering excellent customer service. You will also play a key role in supporting your team providing guidance, resolving queries, and helping them navigate challenges to ensure they perform at their best.

What will you be doing?

  • Supervising a team of credit controllers
  • Reviewing and analysing aged debt and making high volumes of calls to recover monies
  • Managing multiple ledgers
  • Preparing monthly ledger reports
  • Payment handling
  • Ensuring that credit notes are processed correctly, monitoring reasons for credit notes being raised
  • Identifying problem debts that require escalation and liaising with the Credit Control Manager as appropriate
  • Allocating cash
  • Reconciling accounts
  • Maintaining relationships with both colleagues and clients
  • Actively engaging, on a monthly basis, with managers and partners on debt status and preparing monthly summary reports

What skills are we looking for?

  • Have previous supervisory experience
  • Have experience of working within credit control and will have proven experience of reducing aged debt
  • Have experience of working within a fast-paced environment
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to communicate at all levels and be able to liaise with managers and clients
  • Be able to prioritise your own workload to meet deadlines
