Opportunity: The Head of Compliance will be a dynamic leader responsible for crafting and executing both internal compliance strategies and innovative client solutions. This dual-purpose role requires an individual with a blend of regulatory expertise and commercial acumen to not only protect the organisation through a robust compliance framework but also build, design, and offer revenue-generating compliance services for their international clients.
This role is hybrid and very flexible, ideally the successful candidate will spend a couple of days in the company's Warrington office.
Role:
- Internal Compliance Management: Design, implement, and manage their internal compliance framework across ISO standards, AML, GDPR, ICAEW, Employment Law, Health & Safety, Cybersecurity, and ESG regulations. Build and maintain an agile compliance system that safeguards the business operations and prepares the company for future due diligence and risk assessments. Lead regular compliance audits, identify gaps, and take proactive corrective actions to ensure they remain at the forefront of regulatory standards. Develop compliance policies and training programs to equip the employees with the necessary knowledge and tools to stay compliant and aware of regulatory shifts. Collaborate closely with the leadership team to ensure compliance frameworks align with their strategic goals and service offerings.
- Client-Focused Compliance Innovation: Innovate and develop a portfolio of compliance consultancy services that address the needs of international businesses expanding across borders. Provide bespoke compliance solutions, including ISO certification, GDPR, AML, Health & Safety, Employment Law, and ESG services, tailored to each client's unique market requirements. Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, building custom compliance frameworks that not only meet regulatory standards but also drive operational efficiencies and business value. Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to productize compliance services, positioning them as valuable, revenue-driving offerings for our clients. Be a thought leader in the compliance space, staying ahead of trends and regulations, and continuously evolving service offerings to meet emerging client needs.
- Business Integration and Risk Management: Create an integrated compliance structure that ensures all the service offerings are fully vetted and compliant with global standards. Lead risk management initiatives that not only protect the business but also provide a blueprint for clients to mitigate their risks as they expand into new territories. Implement a cross-functional approach to compliance, working with finance, HR, tax, and legal teams to ensure a holistic compliance culture.
Relevant Experience:
- Regulatory Mastery: Proven track record (7-10+ years) in compliance management, with deep knowledge in ISO standards, AML regulations, GDPR, ICAEW, Employment Law, Health & Safety, Cybersecurity, Bribery Act, and ESG frameworks.
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to translate compliance expertise into value-added consultancy services that generate revenue for the business.
- Solution Design & Innovation: Strong experience in designing and implementing custom compliance solutions, from auditing to full-scale program management, both internally and for clients.
- Leadership & Influence: Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change within the organisation, ensuring compliance frameworks align with both risk management and commercial objectives.
- Client-Centric Consultancy: Hands-on experience working with international clients, providing strategic compliance guidance and tailoring solutions to fit diverse regulatory environments.
- Operational Excellence: Highly organized, detail-oriented, with a proven ability to manage complex projects, deadlines, and cross-border compliance requirements.
