Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be supporting an established, industry leading manufacturing business in the Cramlington area with their search for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer.
Overall Purpose: To provide electrical support to ensure that the manufacturing process, facilities and services are managed and maintained to a high standard.
Key Duties:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance of production equipment to ensure a reliable manufacturing process.
- Perform calibration validation and corrections on equipment such as load cells and temperature controllers.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production machinery and supporting equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies, including but not limited to permits to work, pre-work risk assessment and method statements, LOTO, ATEX.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Provide technical support and training to junior technicians and apprentices.
- Provide engineering support to the production process when required in order to improve machine output and rectify processing issues.
- Work alongside the on-site project department to develop new/improved electrical control systems.
Some of the core skills/knowledge:
- Familiarity with PLCs (Siemens preferably) is essential to aid in the diagnosis process.
- Experience with AC/DC drives (primarily Siemens & ABB predominantly).
- Knowledge/experience of Tension control systems.
- Bus network systems (Profibus, Profinet).
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical circuits, with the ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs, using a CMMS system.
Key Requirements:
- Completed Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- HNC (Higher National Certificate) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Proven experience in fault finding and troubleshooting on PLC systems, ideally Siemens.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
The Package: Circa £55,000 per annum inclusive of shift allowance. Continental 24-7 shift pattern of days/nights, one week working 60 hrs (5 12 hour shifts, 2 days break in between), the next week only working only 24 hours (2 12 hour shifts) on rotation.
