The Portfolio Analytics Associate will play a crucial role within the Real Estate Portfolio Analytics team, focusing on maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the portfolio’s performance records. This position serves as a financial partner to the investment, investor relations, and portfolio management teams, providing essential insights, analyses, and reporting regarding the investments contained within the portfolio. Effective communication with both the finance and investment teams is vital to ensure all team members are equipped with the necessary data and insights regarding each property and the overall portfolio. The position requires a thorough understanding of the portfolio's investments, including recent activities and the current financial standing of the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the quarterly production of performance track records for properties, investments, and funds.
- Prepare quarterly and year-end reports, which include portfolio update slides, executive summaries, fund and asset level dashboards, and year-end summaries for stakeholder communication.
- Identify and develop tools and analyses using Yardi, Chatham, and Anaplan platforms to enhance the team’s efficiency in accessing real-time data.
- Assist with ongoing financial modeling needs for both the Portfolio Analytics team and the broader Real Estate platform, serving as a subject matter expert for Real Estate models and tools while continuously evaluating and improving them.
- Diligently track investment activities to keep the team updated on upcoming acquisitions and dispositions, as well as portfolio construction and investment pacing.
- Collaborate with the Investor Relations team to update marketing materials by utilizing financial data and portfolio performance records.
- Partner with the Investment team to analyze individual properties and their contributions to the portfolio.
- Generate and maintain timely and accurate reports related to portfolio and asset management for senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Mathematics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Entry-level experience to 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the real estate or private equity industries.
- Advanced Excel skills with experience in financial modeling.
- Progress toward a relevant professional designation such as CFA, CAIA, or CPA is advantageous.
- A strong interest and understanding of financial markets and products.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently engage with management at all levels.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a commitment to professionalism and integrity in every aspect of the role.
