Substance Misuse / Addictions Specialty doctor

We have an excellent permanent job opportunity for a Substance Misuse & Addictions Specialty Doctor to work for a private substance misuse service in London. This is a part-time role, where you will contribute to the service to ensure that service users consistently receive high-quality services that adhere to the best guidelines and achieve high professional standards. Salary: £88,982.40 – £99,819.20 Position: Substance Misuse & Addictions Specialty Doctor Hours: Part-time – 30 hours per week. Bi-Borough Service (22.5 hours per week) Southwark Service (7.5 hours per week) Setting: Outpatient setting Location: South London For this role, you will be responsible for: Clinical Assessments: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and physical health assessments. Medical Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and correspondence. Collaborative Working: Liaise with GPs, adult mental health services, social services, and prison healthcare. Specialist Prescribing: Initiate and oversee prescribing regimes in line with national guidelines. Phlebotomy & BBV Support: Conduct tests as needed and support vaccination programs. Safe Titration: Work alongside the nursing team to ensure safe induction onto treatment. Multidisciplinary Team Meetings: Contribute to care planning, risk management, and integrated care pathways. Experience in delivering evidence-based treatments for substance misuse. Strong knowledge of addiction psychiatry, harm reduction, and relevant legislation. Excellent clinical communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work autonomously and remain calm under pressure.
