Equans are recruiting for a Carpenter to be based in College Road, to work on Voids for Birmingham City Council properties throughout Birmingham. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. Hours are Monday to Friday 8am-4:30pm.

What will you deliver?

  • Construct and install wooden frameworks, including walls, floors, and door frames.
  • Fit and repair wooden structures and fixtures such as windows, doors, and skirting boards.
  • Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials using hand and power tools.
  • Assemble furniture, cabinets, and other wooden items as required.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair work on existing wooden structures.
  • Ensure all work complies with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Keep tools and equipment in good working order and follow company safety procedures.
  • Any other reasonable management request.

Who are we looking for?

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent.
  • Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in Construction.
  • Proven experience in joinery, including construction, installation, and repair work.
  • Strong attention to detail and high standard of workmanship.
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations related to joinery work.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Full UK driving license.
