Our client has an exciting opportunity for a permanent Laboratory Technician to provide practical support within their dedicated Serology department in West Lothian.
Working hours will be Monday-Friday, 8.45am-5.00pm (there may be a requirement to work a Saturday as required). This position would suit either a graduate with a Biological Science Degree (or similar subject) looking for an opportunity to gain experience or a candidate with similar laboratory work experience.
You will be involved in carrying out routine testing using ELISAβs in a high throughput laboratory ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 regulations using standard operating procedures. A good level of computer skills and competence using Microsoft Office is also required.
Required Skills/Lab experience:- Degree within Biological Science or similar subject
- Knowledge or experience in ELISA gained at College/University, together with the ability to work to strict deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- An understanding of test quality control and awareness of quality systems, such as UKAS accreditation would be advantageous
