Position Summary:
The Director of Nursing (DON) supervises nursing services in a correctional setting, overseeing nursing personnel, ensuring patient needs are met, and participating in planning and training. The DON collaborates with leadership to meet operational and clinical performance targets.
Minimum Requirements / Preferences:
- Graduate of an Accredited Nursing School; Bachelor’s or Master’s preferred
- Licensed in the State; board-certified or eligible
- 3+ years clinical experience; correctional healthcare experience preferred
- Management experience preferred
- Knowledge of accreditation standards (NCCHC, ACA)
- Specialty correctional healthcare certification desired (CCHP, CCHP-RN)
Essential Functions:
- Provide quality oversight and supervision of nursing staff
- Evaluate patient care and implement improvement plans
- Ensure compliance with regulations and standards
- Coordinate staff scheduling and training
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits
- Support company initiatives and participate in committees
