Our Administration Officers play a critical role, providing excellent administrative support to service users, judiciary, and management.

HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is an agency of the Ministry of Justice responsible for the administration of criminal, civil, and family Courts and Tribunals in England and Wales. We support our service users and colleagues within HMCTS, where people and businesses access potentially life-changing justice.

The First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) deals with applications, appeals, and references related to disputes over property and land. The Chamber consists of three divisions:

  • Residential Property – disputes including rent increases, leasehold disputes, among others.
  • Land Registration – disputes involving changes to land registers and document corrections.
  • Agricultural Land & Drainage – disputes involving farming tenancies and drainage issues.

We are currently integrating into the National Services directorate, providing opportunities for process improvements and preparing for increased work following upcoming legislation. Your responsibilities include handling appeals related to financial penalties, rent disputes, leasehold issues, and more, ensuring fair outcomes. Your daily tasks include processing appeals and applications, managing fees, and supporting efficient case handling.

We seek friendly, approachable individuals with strong communication skills, attention to detail, proficiency with databases and software, and good organizational skills to prioritize and multitask effectively.

This operational role is customer-facing, requiring office-based work to provide HMCTS services. Hybrid working may be available based on operational needs. Standard hours are 37 per week, with flexible working options considered.

From 4 April 2024, the salary threshold for Skilled Worker visas has increased. The role's starting salary is below the threshold; sponsorship considerations depend on visa status and eligibility. Please discuss during vetting if applicable. Ensure you have the right to work in the UK.
