We have an exciting opportunity in our Highways & Transport Traffic Enforcement Team for an Enforcement Investigation Officer. We are looking for a highly motivated, efficient, enthusiastic and flexible individual who has proven experience of working in the field of parking, bus lane and moving traffic enforcement. Based out of One Angel Square, Northampton, NN1 1ED.
What will you be doing? This role covers the statutory legislation governing parking, bus lane and moving traffic enforcement which is currently managed in-house. There are strict statutory timeframes so the role will be demanding. Only those applicants who can demonstrate in their Supporting Statement that they have the essential requisite skills and legislative knowledge as detailed within the Job Description will be considered for an interview for this post. The role is to further support a forward-looking service that meets our primary objectives of improving road safety and reducing congestion on our road network.
The workload will be extremely varied and will require you to be flexible and use your own initiative to meet the demands of the role. You will have strong interpersonal and proven customer service skills and are required to deal with challenging situations in a tactful and diplomatic way.
In addition, you should possess and be expected to have the following:
- Experience of dealing with the public
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage the workload within statutory timeframes and to a high standard of customer service
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally when dealing with members of the public (written and verbal)
- Ability and proven experience of working under pressure and using own initiative
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
- Work as part of a team
The role will have some flexibility but you will be required to come into the office on a regular basis.
