OLG Recruitment is seeking an Area Maintenance Lead for our client located in Wakefield. As the Area Maintenance Lead , you will support the Central Maintenance Lead in resource planning for the On Call Rota, and in preparing and updating the Weekly Maintenance Plan daily. To succeed in this role, you should possess strong leadership skills and process knowledge. This is a full-time, permanent position . Job Purpose : Reporting to the Maintenance and Reliability Manager, the Area Maintenance Lead will manage a lean and agile team of technicians to respond to and resolve plant and equipment breakdowns, minimizing downtime and production impact. You will be responsible for executing reactive maintenance, ensuring parts and equipment are available, and reporting. Collaboration with the Central Maintenance Lead will be essential to feedback on recurring issues and resource planning. Roles & Responsibilities: Lead the maintenance team to resolve breakdowns safely, efficiently, and effectively, minimizing production impact. Conduct triage of plant and equipment to identify required maintenance interventions, ensuring safety and technical standards are met. Collaborate with Site Operations and the Central Maintenance Lead to prioritize breakdowns and allocate resources accordingly. Work with the Maintenance and Reliability Manager to complete RCIs on breakdowns, feeding insights into the preventative plan. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report team performance. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during maintenance activities. Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, ordering as needed through the Central Team. Oversee contract support within the area and ensure all documentation, including permits, is in place. Ensure housekeeping standards and safety compliance in the workshop and surrounding areas. Manage the Area Maintenance Team, including setting objectives, conducting one-to-ones, and overseeing development, training, and performance management. Qualifications: Level 4 Apprenticeship in a recognised maintenance discipline. At least 5 years of experience in maintenance leadership or a related field. Skills & Experience: Experience in the chemical manufacturing sector. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling. Understanding of safety regulations and procedures. Experience with CMMS for managing maintenance activities and spares. Effective communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks safely.
