At Ravensbourne, we are seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to lead and manage our BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Reuse course. Our renowned BA(Hons) Interior Architecture and Reuse course is celebrated for producing highly employable graduates with a distinctive personal design identity equipped with future-proof skills. This globally unique course is validated under ARB and RIBA Part 1 criteria and has the same high standards as our BA (Hons) Architecture programme. The focus is on repurposing existing buildings and is embedded in a department which collaborates cross-disciplinarily in architecture, interior architecture, and landscape architecture.

The Course Leader will have overall responsibility for each of the BA Interior Architecture and Re-use course levels. The Course Leader will contribute and collaborate towards the successful organisation, teaching, and assessment of BA Architecture, BA Urban Landscape, and future courses in spatial practices. You will also engage in cross-disciplinary activities across Ravensbourne and work with other senior leaders in a cluster where students have shared delivery covering a range of courses in spatial practices such as interior architecture and landscape.

You have:

  • Significant professional knowledge and experience of spatial design, particularly in architecture retrofit/reuse, interior architecture, and the architectural profession.
  • Excellent leadership and organisational skills, with an ability to engage, motivate and mentor students towards industry-ready profiles.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
  • An interest in emerging technologies and familiarity with the use of virtual learning environments and associated teaching methodologies.
  • Academic teaching experience and a good teaching record.
  • A first degree or post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject.
  • A detailed understanding and experience of the meaning and process of professional accreditation – in particular for ARB and RIBA – is a bonus.
