A growing business is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to lead efforts in enhancing the overall maintenance programme effectiveness through continuous improvement of the preventative maintenance strategy. The role involves preparing and planning for third-party support for reactive and corrective works, with all critical works requiring relevant management approval. The ideal candidate will be a qualified electrician (preferably Compex qualified) with mechanical experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Planned Preventative Maintenance system to ensure all activities are completed on time, within budget, and with proper documentation.
- Participate actively in daily team meetings.
- Perform electrical and mechanical installation, testing, and fault diagnosis on plant and machinery, including hazardous areas.
- Manage sub-contractors by checking, issuing, and monitoring all scheduled PPM tasks and remedial actions, both in-house and sub-contracted.
- Procure third-party suppliers.
- Ensure the Engineering Department operates cost-effectively.
- Maintain manufacturing equipment and site utilities to ensure safe and continuous operation.
- Conduct routine testing of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and emergency lighting.
- Oversee the selection of hazardous area equipment.
- Review and prioritize work requests, determine necessary activities, and set completion dates.
- Provide out-of-hours support.
- Implement company policies and goals.
- Follow health, safety, and environmental guidelines and best practices.
- Report on current performance and planned improvements.
Candidate Requirements
- Approved Practical Electrical Qualification AM2
- EAL Level 3 Certification in Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations
- EAL Level 3 Certification in Inspection, Testing, and Certification of Electrical Installations
- Compex qualifications or willingness to train if possible.
