We are seeking an experienced, innovative, and collaborative individual to join the Communicable Disease Surveillance Centre (CDSC) as part of the Genomic Epidemiology team. The successful candidate will provide analytical support and develop surveillance systems to enhance public health responses.

The post-holder will:

  • Collaborate with senior scientists and epidemiologists to establish and expand surveillance schemes based on evolving service needs.
  • Oversee the production and quality assurance of routine surveillance reports.
  • Respond to ad-hoc and urgent queries from public organizations, government, media, and the public, under supervision.
  • Assist in preparing and quality assuring data for publication on the Public Health Wales website, exploring new data presentation methods.
  • Support investigations of outbreaks in hospitals and communities, contributing to the division's surveillance capacity.
  • Participate in applied epidemiological research projects as required.
