A plastic injection moulding and tooling business offering a complete tooling service to a diverse customer base spanning many industries, is seeking a Toolmaker to join their extensive production moulding facility. Reporting to the Tooling Manager, the main purpose of this role is to manufacture and assemble mould tooling and carry out routine repairs and maintenance where required.

As a Toolmaker, your duties will include:

  • Working on single, family and multi-cavity tools up to 2 tonne weight
  • Modifications, refurbishment, servicing and repairs of existing mould tooling, as well as manufacturing full mould tooling and modular systems in steels and alloys
  • Assembly and fitting of tooling elements
  • Machining on a range of toolroom machines
  • Manufacture of jigs & fixtures to support the mould shop
  • Inspection of own work and accountability for quality of work produced

To be successful in the role of Toolmaker, the ideal candidate will:

  • Have extensive knowledge and experience of working on and manufacturing injection mould tools
  • Be able to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Have experience with standard toolroom machinery such as surface grinder, cylindrical grinder, manual lathes, and mills to a high standard

On offer:

  • A salary £36 - 40K open to negotiation for the right skillset
  • Flexible Monday to Friday day shift, within 7am – 4pm (40-hour week)
  • 4 day working week can be considered

  • Christmas shutdown
