Founded in 1869 and rooted in a distinctive Josephite ethos, St George’s educates over 1,600 girls and boys aged 2–18 across our Junior School and College. We are proud of our academic reputation, our recent full compliance in ISI inspections (March 2024), and our commitment to nurturing kind, confident, and socially responsible young people.

Our Governors play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of the school, and our current Board come from a diverse and impressive range of professional backgrounds. We are now particularly keen to hear from individuals with strong financial acumen who can contribute to the continued success and sustainability of our community. In addition, to preserve the balance mandated by our governing documents, we currently require new board members to be Catholic.

Commitment Required: attendance at 4 Committee meetings and 3 Board meetings a year, plus a 1-day Governors’ Conference typically held on a Saturday. Over the last number of years, we have evolved our meeting schedule to be a hybrid of both formats (in person and online) and timings (day and evening). These are scheduled at least 12 months in advance.

We warmly welcome you to apply for the position if you feel you have the requisite skills.

How to Apply: Any expressions of interest should be made to the Clerk to the Governors Catherine Punt at cpunt@stgeorgesweybridge.com.
