What You Will Be Doing

• Hearings, including interlocutory applications, case management hearings and infant approval hearings
• Drafting advices, pleadings and skeleton arguments
• Travel across England and Wales, which could require overnight stays

You will be part of the Advocacy Department, which operates as a tight-knit team, working closely with a number of experienced barristers. This role provides an opportunity to gain and develop first-hand advocacy skills.

What We Look For

• An excellent communicator with presentation and interpersonal skills
• A fast learner with a sound working knowledge of the CPR
• Resilience and ability to think and perform under pressure to meet strict deadlines
• Ability to act on own initiative and think flexibly
• Sound academics (minimum 2.1 degree) and Fellow/BPC performance (Very Competent/Distinction)

Recruitment Process

The interview is conducted via MS Teams with the Head of the Advocacy Department and a team member from Emerging Talent. A pre-interview task is sent out 48 hours prior to the interview, with scenario-based and competency-based questions. Our recruitment policy encourages applications from all.
