Location: Farnborough

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00

We’re supporting a highly respected industrial site in their search for a skilled Instrument Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong instrumentation experience from sectors such as oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, water treatment, or nuclear. In this role, you will carry out both routine and unplanned maintenance, helping to ensure the continued safe and efficient operation of critical systems and process control equipment. You’ll be part of a collaborative and safety-focused team, with the chance to work on diverse and technically rewarding challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance and log completed checks appropriately
  • Diagnose and repair faults in instrumentation systems through scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
  • Service various types of process control equipment including transmitters, analysers, and controllers
  • Carry out vendor-led maintenance activities as required
  • Maintain site infrastructure and systems in line with safe operating procedures
  • Provide support for plant breakdowns, including out-of-hours response where necessary
  • Ensure a high standard of housekeeping to maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free work environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and demonstrate a strong understanding of process, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems

Requirements

  • 4–5 years’ experience in maintenance of instrumentation and/or related electrical systems
  • Recognised qualification in instrumentation (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent apprenticeship), with a solid grounding in electrical systems
  • Able to work independently or collaboratively, with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable taking ownership of both routine and non-routine maintenance responsibilities
