Position overview: We are seeking a Quality Technician/Engineer based at our Wynyard site. This role reports to the UK Quality Manager.

Main responsibilities:

  • Resolve non-conformance issues, ensuring minimal disruption and cost to customers, leading product problem investigations through the 8D process, ensuring timely containment, RCA, and closure within guidelines.
  • Liaise with suppliers to address issues with supplied products promptly.
  • Manage cost recovery related to concerns and ensure targets are met.
  • Provide on-site customer support in Northeast England when needed.
  • Perform quality control during Goods Inwards inspection.
  • Manage quality release activities for new or changed products.
  • Collaborate with peers and departments to achieve wider business objectives.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Quality, Metallurgical, or Engineering qualification preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in a Quality role or similar.
  • Proficient in Problem Solving using 8D and/or A3 methodologies.
  • Automotive experience is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and PPAP.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing is advantageous.
  • Understanding of fasteners and manufacturing processes is beneficial.
  • Proficient with measurement and test equipment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home.
  • Full driving license required.
  • Computer literacy in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
