A key client of ours is looking for a Linux System Administrator for a long term hybrid project in Cambridge.
Contract Duration: 9-month initial contract (very possible extension)
Location: Cambridge, Hybrid (3 days on site per week) Inside IR35
Working Hours: 40 hours a week / Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience running and maintaining on-premise data centres
- Strong experience with Linux (Ubuntu / Centos)
- Experience with enterprise storage including ISCSI and SAN technology
- Prior experience using automation tools (Ansible, Foreman etc)
- Knowledge of IP networking, DNS, and firewalling
- Experience with Python, shell scripts and command-line tools
- Knowledge of containerisation and related orchestration technologies
- Demonstrable experience of remediation projects, ideally within a PCI-DSS certified environment
- Strong verbal & written communication skills and natural willingness to collaborate across teams and organisations
- Naturally able & productive with ITSM tools such as Jira, ServiceNow etc
Great to haves:
- Good knowledge of the various services and capabilities of cloud computing platforms; Ideally AWS
- Hyper-V, Microsoft AD, AAD & VMWare experience
- Experience maintaining OpenStack
- Experience maintaining build system, source code management, TeamCity and GitLab services
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Computer Science preferred) or equivalent experience
