ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a consumer-focused writer to work on the MoneySavingExpert editorial team, accountable for researching and writing new features content, regularly keeping a wide range of current content up to date, as well as maintaining relationships with retailers and press contacts. One year fixed term contract (maternity cover).
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Pitching, investigating, and writing Features content.
- Updating current guides and blogs.
- Predominantly around travel and consumer rights but covering a wide scope of money saving topics ranging from free AI tools to cheap prescriptions.
- Writing and researching money saving tips, pitching those ideas for the email.
- Contributing to the Deals Hunters/Team blog, creating new content around consumer topics, money saving deals, glitches, and loopholes.
- Checking content to ensure it is SEO optimised and UX considered.
- Writing own content cards for the app.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- High levels of accuracy with the ability to write clear and concise copy.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Passion for MoneySaving.
- Knowledge of consumer and personal finance topics.
- Proven ability to work to deadlines/targets.
- Strong evidence of effective time management/organisation/prioritisation skills.
- Proven experience of writing online in an editorial environment. Ideally two years.
- Tenacity to push back contacts to pursue full facts.
- Flexible and adaptable approach.
- Able to give and receive constructive feedback.
- Nice to have: SEO and Google analytics knowledge.

INTERVIEW PROCESS
1. 60 minute interview consisting of a more in depth conversation about your experience and the role, with both competency and behavioural questions. Followed by a 30 minute writing task. We will try to do interviews in person where possible.
