Job overview: To lead and manage all catering services across Merseycare NHS Foundation Trust. The Post holder will be responsible for all governance, Strategy, food safety, quality, and the operational management of all catering services. To drive the strategic direction & development of Trust catering services in line with care standards.

Main duties of the job:

  • To lead and manage all catering services across Merseycare NHS Foundation Trust.
  • The Post holder will be responsible for all governance, Strategy, food safety, quality, and the operational management of all catering services.
  • To drive the strategic direction & development of Trust catering services in line with care standards.
  • The post holder will form part of the senior facilities management team and will be expected to be involved in managing catering functions across the entire Mersey Care organisation.
  • The post holder will exercise a high degree of professional specialism in food and manage services in line with the Trust Strategic plan; this should include all aspects of the service including front of house services and 24-hour access to food solutions.
  • Be the Trust Catering Specialist and ambassador for catering.
  • Ensure, through sound financial management, that services are delivered within tight budgetary control and the requirements of the Trust in line with Government initiatives, Trust objectives and financial efficiency targets.

Person specification:

Qualifications

Essential criteria:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Higher diploma in catering management or equivalent experience
  • Level 3 Certificate in Food Safety
  • Level 2 award in identifying and controlling allergy risks
  • Level 3 HACCP in catering and retail

Desirable criteria:

  • Level 4 Certificate in Food Safety Management of people qualification
  • Experience of working in a mental health setting
