Automation Software Engineer\\nLocation: Greater Manchester\\nSalary: £45,000 – £52,000 + Benefits\\nType: Full-time, Permanent\\n\\nA fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Automation Software Engineer to join a well-established engineering company based in Greater Manchester. You’ll be part of a skilled team working on the development and configuration of automation software for packaging machinery — including new builds, R&D, and retrofit projects.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Programming Siemens PLCs, SCADA, and drive systems (TIA Portal, WinCC, Sinamics S120)\\n\\n * \\n\\n Creating and adapting automation software for standard and bespoke machinery\\n\\n * \\n\\n Supporting commissioning and troubleshooting, both on-site and internationally\\n\\n * \\n\\n Managing your own software design projects and liaising with internal and external stakeholders\\n\\nWhat We’re Looking For:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Strong experience in Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC SCADA programming\\n\\n * \\n\\n Familiarity with Sinamics S120 & CU320 drive systems\\n\\n * \\n\\n Understanding of machine control systems including pneumatics, hydraulics, and FieldBus\\n\\n * \\n\\n Degree or HND in Engineering (Electrical, Automation, or related discipline)\\n\\n * \\n\\n Willingness to travel globally when required\\n\\n * \\n\\n Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities\\n\\nDesirable:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Electrical design experience (control cabinets)\\n\\n * \\n\\n Roll-to-roll winding knowledge\\n\\n * \\n\\n Experience in machinery commissioning\\n\\nThis is a hands-on, diverse role offering the chance to contribute to innovative automation solutions in a company committed to engineering excellence.\\n\\nApply today to be part of something impactful
