Job Description

Our client are a very successful Electronics Manufacturing company with over 40 years’ experience. They are looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Engineer to operate from their sites in Essex, Berkshire and Cambridgeshire.\\n\\nAs a Business Development Engineer you will be part of the business development team, working alongside marketing, being responsible and accountable for generating leads, creating opportunities that result in requests for quotation (RFQs) and negotiating contracts.\\n\\nYou will work as part of the team taking direction from the UK Group Managing Director. Collectively the team are required to maintain a pipeline of opportunities that will ensure year on year growth across the three UK factories.

You will also work closely with the factory Managing Directors and their commercial, technical and productions teams. This is very much a collaborative approach.\\n\\nThe role will demand a ‘hands-on’ approach with the ability to work at pace and be tenacious to see things through to a successful outcome.\\n\\nMain responsibilities\\n\\n 1. Assist with generating leads using all available tools and professional networks.\\n\\n 2.

Support the team to secure meetings and visits with prospective customers / target.\\n\\n 3. Support the team to follow up on enquiries and opportunities.\\n\\n 4. Help produce proposals, quotations and contracts as needed.\\n\\n 5.

Engage with their factories, develop strong working connections with Engineering, Operations and Commercial key contacts and facilitate prospective customer visits.\\n\\nSkills, knowledge & experience\\n\\n * Some understanding of the demands of contract manufacturing; including electro-mechanical assembly, PCBA manufacturing, prototyping, test development and component sourcing.\\n\\n * Good communications skills; including presenting and written material.\\n\\n * Proficient in presenting company data to senior stakeholders and business owners of potential customers.\\n\\n * Willingness to work collaboratively with all internal departments to share customer insight, update on development timelines and deliver new business from contract\\n\\n * Willingness to learn and develop sales techniques alongside technical knowledge.\\n\\nHybrid working\\n\\nYour formal place of work will be your home address. To work from home, you must have a suitable office / working environment. Equipment will be provided.

However, if preferred, and subject to the distance, you could be formally based at one of their factories. You will be able to use the offices and facilities at any of the UK factories.\\n\\nYou will, however, be required to travel within the UK on a very regular basis to meet prospective customers, current customers and to interact in person with the teams at our factories. Occasional overseas travel may be necessary.

As a guide, assuming activities levels are as expected, you should be travelling most of the time.\\n\\nYou must have a clean, full UK driving licence and in date passport.\\n\\nRemuneration package\\n\\n * Salary From £40,000 dependent on skills & experience\\n\\n * Car / Car allowance Either a fully expensed company car or an equivalent car allowance appropriate for this role.\\n\\n * Bonus UK Group Business Development Bonus Scheme\\n\\n * Working hours Full time is 37 hours per week\\n\\n * Mon to Thurs 08:30 to 17:00 and Fri 08:30 to 13:30\\n\\n * Holiday : 25 days plus Bank Holidays (includes Christmas shutdown)\\n\\n * Life cover : Death in service cover (x3 annual salary) after probation period\\n\\n * Pension scheme : Auto-enrolment with 5% employee and 3% company contributions\\n\\n * Wellbeing support: Free & confidential access 24/7 to Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
