The role of Lead Pricing Actuary involves developing pricing models and frameworks from scratch, requiring a blend of technical expertise and creative problem-solving. You will report to the Head of Underwriting and may be based in Bermuda, New York, Dubai, or London. The compensation package includes a competitive salary, equity, and more, depending on experience and location.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine pricing models for innovative insurance products related to digital assets and liability risks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to develop rating factors using data sources like on-chain analytics and governance data.
• Create actuarial models for rate indications and internal capital models.
• Monitor underwriting results and perform profitability analysis.
• Design flexible pricing strategies for emerging risks in the crypto ecosystem.
• Stay updated on blockchain, digital assets, and DeFi trends to inform risk strategies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of pricing experience in Property & Casualty Re/Insurance, preferably with specialty or financial lines.
• Proficiency in Python, Julia, R, Excel; familiarity with actuarial tools is a plus.
• Strong understanding of insurance pricing methodologies and portfolio risk management.
• Experience with limited or nontraditional datasets.
• Interest or familiarity with blockchain, DeFi, crypto trading, or staking.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice to Haves

• Actuarial designation (ASA/FCAS, FIA, FFA, or equivalent).
• Experience in emerging markets or with crypto, cybersecurity, fintech, or risk consulting.
• Understanding of regulatory implications related to crypto insurance.
• Experience with captives and alternative risk transfer solutions.
