Location: Oxford (Hybrid 1 day/week in office) Rate: £500 per day Contract: 612 months Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time (Flexible) Office Attendance: Required once per week (Wednesday) Overview We are currently recruiting for a Principal Strategic Planner to support a local authority in Oxfordshire on a long-term contract basis. This is a key role for an experienced planning professional with a background in policy and/or development management. Key Responsibilities Lead or support the preparation and implementation of local planning policy. Provide strategic advice on major planning applications and infrastructure projects. Liaise with internal teams, external partners, and the public on planning issues. Contribute to high-level planning strategies that shape future growth and development. Requirements: Extensive experience in town and country planning, preferably within a local authority (county, district or unitary). Proven track record in planning policy and/or development management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a hybrid team.
