Smartedge’s Client is looking for an individual to help with their Solution Architect – Hospitality Technology (PMS Migration & Digital Platform Integration) on a Contract role in Dunstable, UK (Hybrid).
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly experienced Solution Architect – Hospitality Technology to lead the end-to-end integration and migration of a legacy Property Management System (PMS) to Opera Cloud PMS as part of a merger and acquisition (M&A). The new property will operate under a separate brand, requiring distinct technical, operational, and distribution strategies. This role is critical in architecting a clean separation from existing systems while ensuring the new brand is intentionally excluded from direct digital distribution platforms and to be sold only on OTAs and GDS. The architect will also lead a comprehensive impact assessment across systems, operations, and digital channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and lead the migration of existing PMS infrastructure to Oracle Opera Cloud PMS for the newly acquired property.
- Architect a technical and operational separation of systems to support a distinct, standalone brand identity.
- Define and implement restrictions to prevent the new property from being sold or marketed on existing digital distribution channels such as brand.com websites.
- Define and implement strategies to sell the new property on GDS and OTAs (booking.com, Expedia).
- Conduct detailed impact assessments across current customer technology platforms, guest experience, financial systems (FUSION), interfaces, and internal operations.
- Develop data migration strategies ensuring accuracy, compliance, and data integrity throughout the transition.
- Collaborate with stakeholders from IT, operations, e-commerce, revenue management, and Oracle Hospitality to ensure alignment and business continuity.
- Provide technical documentation including architectural diagrams, integration maps, data flow charts, and separation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and hospitality standards such as PCI-DSS, HTNG, and GDPR where applicable.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven success in migrating legacy PMS platforms to Oracle Opera Cloud PMS.
- Strong understanding of digital distribution ecosystems and experience in restricting or customizing property visibility across platforms (OTAs, GDS, CRS, etc.).
- Experience supporting brand carve-outs or spin-offs during M&A activities.
- Solid understanding of enterprise integration patterns (APIs, middleware, ETL).
- Strong analytical skills to perform technical and business impact assessments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Oracle Hospitality Integration Platform (OHIP) and ORMS.
- Familiarity with Evoke or other self-service kiosk providers (if applicable to the property).
- Experience in setting up multi-brand or white-label environments in Opera Cloud.
- Certifications in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF), project management (PMP), or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
