Pentest People is a UK-based security consultancy specialising in providing Penetration Testing as a Service to all its clients. We are seeking a Pre-sales Consultant to support our Sales team by providing technical expertise to customers and prospects throughout the sales process. Reporting directly to our Sales Director, you will assist the team in delivering pre-sales support to help close deals. While most interactions will take place over the phone or via video calls, occasional onsite client meetings may be required.
The primary responsibility of the role is to determine the scope of work for various Cyber Security products and services, with a focus on Penetration Testing. You will work with internal teams to create comprehensive proposals, ensuring a smooth sales experience and presenting the company in the best possible light.
The ideal candidate will have a background in Technical Sales Support, along with a strong interest in Cyber Security (knowledge of Cyber Security or Penetration Testing is a plus). You should excel at building professional relationships based on trust and credibility, and be comfortable in a client-facing role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide technical pre-sales support to clients, serving as the primary point of contact for Penetration Testing scoping engagements.
- Deliver accurate scoping information to the Sales Team and assist in generating proposals using automated tools.
- Act as a trusted advisor to both internal and external stakeholders throughout the sales process.
- Enhance sales conversion rates by offering pre-sales expertise to positively influence decision-making.
- Identify and explore new business opportunities during scoping exercises, and communicate them to the sales team.
- Present technical aspects during sales presentations to clients and prospects.
- Support the Senior Pre-sales Consultant in reviewing and refining the pre-sales process to improve overall offerings.
- Collaborate with the sales team and other internal departments to ensure a smooth customer journey aligned with SLAs.
About you:
- Previous experience in Pre-sales and/or Technical Client Support within a B2B environment is essential, along with either direct knowledge of Cyber Security/Networks or a strong passion for the field.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and internal stakeholders.
- A positive and customer-centric approach to pre-sales, with a strong understanding of clients' needs and motivations, and the ability to handle objections and overcome barriers.
- Experience in producing RFPs and Tender responses.
