We are on the lookout for an Underwriting Support to join our growing team in Wolverhampton. This is an exciting time to join our growing business and the successful candidate can expect fantastic career progression, training & development within the role and Insurance Industry in general. Relevant experience is desirable but not essential and the ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in a career within the insurance sector.
The Role:
You will be required to provide underwriting support and administration as required along with providing agreed levels of customer service to brokers and colleagues and develop a broad understanding of commercial underwriting skills.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing New Business enquiries prior to submission to underwriters
- Reviewing completed quotation requests and providing feedback to brokers and underwriters as necessary
- Liaising with brokers in terms of coverage and pricing
- Dealing with background checks and updating policy records
- Assisting with claims enquiries
- Answering phone calls and assisting with enquiries
- Carrying out Sanction Search checks
- Managing own workload of New and Existing Business cases as well as mid-term adjustments subject to agreed levels of authority
- Assisting with general administration as required
- Adherence to compliance and regulatory procedures
Experience:
Proficient in Word and Excel. You will be able to understand and implement ‘best practice’ in customer service. You will have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, coupled with excellent time management. You will be able to work under pressure, adapt and be flexible in approach. You will have excellent communication skills which includes verbal, written, listening and negotiation, having the ability to communicate at all levels. You will be adept at problem-solving.
