Scope of work & the value you will add to our customers: You will be a key member of the Data Enablement team, helping to drive the transformation of data understanding across the bank, developing standards of excellence and efficiency. Data Enablement is embedding robust data management practices across all teams, ensuring that the bank can achieve its business goals. This role will be instrumental in supporting data-related projects and initiatives that enhance the quality and trust in our data, positioning the bank to deliver unparalleled service to our customers. Your work will directly contribute to achieving high business standards and outcomes through trusted and reliable data.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Engage with data owners, stewards and champions to understand the critical processes and data issues for their domain.
- Support data stewards in completion of robust data documentation for the key data elements associated with their critical processes.
- Define, measure, and monitor data quality following defined processes.
- Document and maintain data lineage in the data governance toolsets.
- Build and manage master and reference data processes.
- Support data usage requests, including applying data privacy and security processes.
- Engage with the business to share results, drive action plans, monitor improvements and complete requirement analytics projects.
- Proactively self-educate on existing systems to ensure their data outputs are maintained and improved, in collaboration with Technology and Change.
- Proactively suggest new systems or system enhancements to better processes and data management/accuracy, thereby removing unnecessary manual intervention.
- Ad hoc analytical and data requests as needed.
Mandatory Skills/Experience:
- Hands-on experience working in a data governance, data quality and metadata management role.
- A good understanding of conceptual, logical and physical data models.
- Proven experience with data catalogues, data lineage/mapping, data quality measurement, and the development of data dictionaries and managing single sources of truth.
- Good technical analytical skills, including SQL and PowerBI.
- Proven track record preparing, reviewing, and reporting data with ability to develop meaningful analysis and insight.
- Confident to engage and influence stakeholders across the bank, by building effective, collaborative relationships.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge and experience of master data management and reference data management.
- Proven experience of measuring, monitoring and reporting on data quality.
- Experience working with data role holders to support new and existing data requirements.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts, ideas and solutions in an accessible way to non-experts.
Interdisciplinary Skills:
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise work effectively & efficiently to meet deadlines.
- A passion to understand and improve data and processes; leaving things better than you found them.
