We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure and pipelines. You will work closely with data scientists, business stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams to ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and secure.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for large datasets.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines and systems.
  • Follow best practices, coding standards, and data engineering principles within the team.
  • Ensure data security and privacy through the implementation of appropriate access controls and data encryption.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data engineering and big data technologies.
  • Work with data scientists to ensure that their models can be effectively integrated into production environments.
  • Preparing data for predictive and prescriptive modelling.
  • Identifying ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
  • Use data to discover tasks that can be automated.
  • Work in short development cycles and with high deployment frequency to incrementally deliver data products.
  • Play a key role in technical design and ongoing development of templates, reference code examples, and code libraries for data products.
  • Build and maintain highly validated data-marts with ensured clarity and correctness of key business metrics for BI reporting purposes.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in data pipeline development and management.
  • Excellent knowledge of programming languages such as Python and SQL.
  • Proficient in big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with big data processing framework such as PySpark.
  • Experience with a cloud-based platform for big data processing and machine learning such as Databricks.
  • You are committed and determined to break down barriers to progress and you deliver results quickly.
