Our Design Engineers are responsible for supporting field commissioning engineers to enable the systems designs to be tested to ensure they meet their full performance requirement. This ranges from periods in the field offering hands-on technical assistance to remote analysis of results and troubleshooting.

Scope of the Role

  • Supporting Design Engineers and Senior Design Engineers with production of detailed specifications, work schedules and other documentation for electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering systems;
  • Assigned to a team covering one or more disciplines, typically: WiFi, Ethernet and IP data communications; Audio and Voice Alarms; CCTV, video and display screens; DC distribution microgrid and stored energy; Equipment housings and containment; Optical fibre;
  • Produce high quality and accurate CAD drawings;
  • Engineering calculations and data analysis;
  • Site surveys and information gathering;
  • Supporting commissioning either assigned to field team or remotely analysing and documenting results.

Key Skill and Experience Requirements

  • You will have an HNC, Level 4 /5 NVQ, HND or degree in an engineering, scientific or mathematically oriented discipline;
  • Likely to have completed 1 - 5 years experience in engineering environment (field, design or similar);
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word with an analytical aptitude;
  • You can demonstrate flexibility, showing ability to work on different systems and engineering processes;
  • You will be tenacious when required and have an eye for detail and a methodical approach to your work.
