We’re supporting a major transformation programme within the insurance sector that is rapidly scaling beyond its original scope. What began as a focused initiative has evolved into a much broader enterprise-wide change effort — and we need a seasoned Enterprise Architect to help steer it.

The Opportunity:

You’ll be stepping in as a key strategic player, supporting the existing programme lead by taking the reins on architecture coordination across multiple high-level initiatives. This is not a clean-cut, structured role — it’s hands-on, dynamic, and calls for someone who thrives in the storming phase of delivery.

Your Role:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership across a growing solution architecture team (8–12 architects + delivery partners)
  • Coordinate shared priorities across workstreams
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders, architecture forums, and programme leadership
  • Guide design decisions and ensure alignment across business, technology, and vendor teams
  • Identify architectural gaps and help assign ownership of workstreams
  • Possibly support vendor sourcing activities
  • Ensure architectural governance and that delivery stays on course
  • Act as a calming, competent presence in a busy, fast-moving environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Lead / Head / Principal Architect in complex financial services or insurance environments
  • Deep understanding of insurance back-office systems, digital channels, and data platforms
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a practical mindset
  • Comfortable working without direct line management but skilled in co-ordination and influence
  • Experience working with multiple solution architects and aligning enterprise-wide designs
  • Someone who doesn’t need their hand held, and can quickly make sense of ambiguity

Nice to Have:

  • Availability to visit Brighton or London occasionally (1–2 days every fortnight)
  • Background working in greenfield transformation programmes
  • Comfortable jumping into an evolving programme with minimal structure

Why This Role?

High-impact, senior-level engagement in a greenfield insurance transformation with a 3-year roadmap. You'll enable the programme lead to step back, while you take the day-to-day architectural reins. Fully remote for the right person, with flexibility built-in.

Interview Process:

Interviews can be arranged as early as next week. For more information on this role please apply on-line or reach out to Catherine Burn on c.burn@ltharper.com.
