What You'll Do
Work directly with the Building Envelope, Structural Forensic & PCA consulting service line Branch Manager, Principals, marketing teams, national account managers, technical staff comprising architects, engineers, building enclosure professionals, and current and future clients to implement proactive, true business development strategies focused on early lead generation and relationship-building. The region you will work within will include the entire state of Florida with a focus on West, East, Central, and North Florida.
As a Building Envelope & Structural Forensic Business Development Manager, you will be collaborating with existing BD managers in secondary focus market areas while taking the lead on growing the Building Envelope, Structural Forensic, and PCA consulting services region-wide. Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, architects, owners rep and general contractors, with an emphasis on early engagement and project tracking prior to RFP release.
Be a go-getter who is comfortable taking on challenging tasks and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment—someone who does not just manage clients but actively develops new business. Coach technical staff in consulting service lines on successful client interaction and participate in developing and implementing business development strategies at the local and regional level.
Conduct market research and use early lead tracking tools to identify opportunities and emerging market trends. Work with the Branch Manager to develop an annual business development plan. The plan would include, but is not limited to, identifying key market sectors, significant client pursuits, significant project pursuits, identifying teaming partners, and a strategy to promote ECS’ Building Enclosure, Structural forensic and PCA consulting services locally and regionally.
Review and provide quarterly updates on the progress of Business Plan goals, tracking specific metrics related to lead generation and new project wins. Collaborate with existing local office Business Development staff in the state of FL to leverage existing client relationships while driving new opportunities across target service lines.
Participate in networking groups, attend various associations, and maintain a client database to generate early leads and relationships with developers, architects, and GCs. Actively hold or pursue a professional association board or committee seat to represent ECS and enhance visibility in the AEC industry. Additional responsibilities may include managing and mentoring business development team members as the BD presence grows across Florida.
Supply content and coordinate with the Social Media Team to support ECS' social media outreach, including marketing campaigns, website, and industry conferences. Ensure that messages are supportive of and consistent with company strategy; deliver content via LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, email, or direct mail through the corporate marketing group.
What We're Looking For
BS in Business Administration, Marketing, or similar, preferred. 5–10 years of true business development experience within the Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) Industry. Preference will be given to candidates with a proven track record in the Facilities Consulting service lines that ECS provides—Due Diligence, Structural Engineering, and/or Building Enclosure Consulting. Strong existing relationships with developers, architects, and general contractors in Florida.
Demonstrated ability to track early-stage leads, engage with clients prior to RFPs, and drive pipeline development from concept through contract. A self-motivated, challenge-driven personality—someone who thrives in a growth-focused culture and actively contributes to regional expansion efforts.
