We work collaboratively with experts in various fields across the UK providing extensive project experience and knowledge. Training and mentoring opportunities for everyone allowing you to grow your career. If you have a desire to develop your core ornithology, project management and consultancy skills whilst also having the opportunity to influence the wider ecology industry, the WSP Ecology team is the place to do it.
Your New Role What’s Involved?
- Lead in the design, co-ordination and scheduling of ornithology surveys.
- Lead on ornithology surveys, following a range of survey methodologies and techniques across a range of sites.
- Production of technical reports, including scoping reports and supporting on the ornithology elements of EIA chapters, including data analysis and presentation.
- Supervision and mentoring of junior ornithology staff.
- Supporting on the ornithology elements of tenders.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- Excellent bird identification skills and experience in a variety of ornithology survey types.
- Experience in providing advice on ornithological matters to clients, project teams and stakeholders.
- Experience in preparing technical reports and sections of text that contribute to Ecological Appraisals, EIA level and HRA level assessments.
- An appropriate academic qualification in Ecology or a related discipline.
- An enthusiastic, energetic outlook and willingness to learn.
- A full UK valid driving license.
- Self-confidence and motivation, with good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Successful applicants will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
