Company Description Job Description Energise Your Career, Accelerate a Net-Zero Future #RenewablesJobs The opportunity We\βre aiming to deliver 10GW of renewable energy by 2035, primarily through large-scale DCO (Development Consent Order) projects, including solar and battery storage systems ranging from 400MW to 800MW. As a Senior Construction Manager, you will lead the end-to-end construction delivery of these Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs). Your initial focus will be on preparing for the Final Investment Decision (FID), followed by full ownership of project execution, managing time, cost, quality, and safety throughout delivery. You will build and lead high-performing project teams, oversee complex contractor schedules, manage budgets, mitigate risks, and coordinate across multiple workstreams. This is a hands-on leadership role within one of the UK\βs most ambitious renewable energy programmes. What you\βll be doing We seek a Senior Construction Project Manager with experience in delivering projects within complex environments, ideally in renewable energy or similar sectors. A degree in engineering, construction, or equivalent, and professional qualification in project management (e.g., APM PPQ) are required. Knowledge of PV/BESS infrastructure, grid code compliance, and experience working with DNOs/TNOs are essential. Your responsibilities will include: Drafting scope for contractors within Employers Requirements Preparing ITT packs for construction contracts Managing relationships with major contractors (solar PV, battery storage, BoP) Communicating construction activities to other disciplines (planning, procurement, insurance, finance, land) Drafting and owning the construction Project Execution Plan (PEP) What do you need to be great at this role? You should demonstrate expertise in engineering design, contract and field execution strategies, control of costs, risks, schedules, and change management. Proficiency with Earned Value tools, managing commercial claims, and negotiations is required. Leadership skills in managing complex projects, contractors, and advisors, along with knowledge of NEC and FIDIC contracts, CDM Regulations, and full project lifecycle, are essential. Strong communication and organizational skills are key to effective relationship-building and ensuring safety, security, and environmental standards.
