Senior Back End Solutions Architect – eCommerce & Fulfilment Systems

ResponsibilitiesArchitect the server-side systems that power a new e-commerce experience.Design scalable APIs (REST/GraphQL), service boundaries, authentication mechanisms, and database models.Ensure security, data integrity, and compliance across services.Create integration points for third-party systems—including factory systems, robotics, inventory platforms, and analytics.Choose and justify backend frameworks, languages, and architecture patterns (monolith vs microservices, messaging systems, etc.).Collaborate with DevOps/cloud experts on deployment strategy, CI/CD, logging, and observability.Lead and mentor backend engineers through the implementation phase.Create a migration plan to bring their existing system to this new architecture. This should be done with no disruptions to the business operations.Requirements6+ years of backend development experience, with 2+ years in architectural or senior backend roles.Experience designing APIs and backend systems for scalable, secure, and distributed applications.Proficient in one or more backend stacks (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, Go, .NET).Familiarity with modern authentication standards (OAuth2, JWT), API security, rate limiting, etc.Experience integrating with external systems or hardware (e.g., factory control systems, robotics APIs, IoT platforms).Strong communication and documentation skills.Nice to HaveExperience in .NET / ASP.NET Core environments.Familiarity with Salesforce-based websites or headless e-commerce platforms.Exposure to event-driven architectures, pub/sub systems, or serverless stacks.
