ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Senior Group Travel Manager, you will have a diverse and varied role. Ultimately you will be responsible, independently and as part of a team, for the successful delivery of group and event travel across our key clients. This role is hands-on and, given TM G’s ambition for growth and scale, includes a wide variety of opportunities for individual growth and development.
This role, in a fast paced environment, will require you to manage flight bookings, room blocks, ground transportation, project proposals, large-scale budgets, as well as client onboarding and driving the enhancement of technology and processes to improve efficiencies.
You will be extremely solution driven and have the ability to develop relationships with clients while understanding their unique requirements to deliver a first-class service, independently as well as driving excellence from the wider team.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Ideally a minimum of 5 years travel industry experience, preferably within Group/Event Travel.
- Experience processing and managing large group bookings – including group flights, hotels and ground transportation.
- Strong industry knowledge with an understanding of airfares, contracted fares, ticketing and hotel reservations.
- Ability to pitch and propose group travel solutions to new and existing clients.
- Proven knowledge of a GDS is a must (Ideally Galileo/Smartpoint).
- Extensive experience in project managing Groups/Events from proposal to completion.
- In depth knowledge and understanding of project budgeting and budget management.
- Proven ability to source and win new business is preferred.
- Financial reporting in relation to event and group travel projects.
- Knowledge of travel mid/back-office systems (ideally Protas/Procon but not essential).
- Strong client account management.
- Experience using event registration platforms is preferred.
- Knowledge of using an Online Booking Tool is a bonus, but not essential.
- Supporting the development and growth of junior members of the team.
- Negotiating fares and supplier contracts.
