Overview
Product Designer, New Grad – Developer Experience role at Palantir Technologies. Palantir builds the world’s leading software for data-driven decisions and operations, empowering partners to develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, locate missing children, and more.
A World-Changing Company. The Palantir Design Team is responsible for the human experience of using our software. Our team is growing rapidly, but we are committed to a tight-knit environment that fosters trust, integrity, empathy, and growth. We work together to realise a shared product vision and regularly give feedback and critique to each other.
Designing at Palantir is a varied experience. You might lead a design sprint, design micro-interactions for complex tasks, and/or advocate for UX consistency by creating flexible, reusable UI components. You should consider API documentation, SDK functionality, and developer onboarding, and speak the language of developers.
Responsibilities
- You’ll work on product teams with minimal supervision and own end-to-end execution of real product features. You will collaborate with Designers, Product Managers, Developers, and Forward Deployed Engineers to refine and evolve Palantir products.
- Interaction and visual design: define early concepts, flesh out workflows and micro-interactions, and execute a crisp visual design. Experience with prototyping using tools such as Figma is preferred.
- User research: engage in informal and flexible research, including visiting customer offices to interview users. Combine qualitative methods with product and usage metrics.
- Deliver and communicate designs in close collaboration with product and forward deployed engineers, treating engineers and product managers as partners.
- Awareness of frontend storytelling: familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript to collaborate with engineers and understand what is possible with frontend tech.
What We Value
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with engineers, PMs, and other stakeholders; ability to defend and discuss design rationale.
- High empathy and dedication to the user, striving to empower them.
- Strong ability to iterate through the design process, give and receive critiques, and rapidly incorporate feedback.
- Willingness to learn, decision-making independence, and the ability to ask questions when needed.
What We Require
- Must be planning on graduating in 2026.
- A portfolio demonstrating at least one software interface design project. If parts are password-protected, please include the portfolio password under \’Additional Questions\’ when applying.
