The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The role will be responsible for ensuring that assets adopted from our construction customers are compliant with the relevant standards and regulations, ensuring the adoption of quality sewerage assets. A key requirement will be for the successful candidate to demonstrate a strong customer service ethos towards our construction partners and developers - and a focus upon operational excellence in the adoption and management of our network assets. ESPW adopts assets from construction partners and developers across all regions of England and Wales. The successful candidates will be expected to be very flexible and adaptable; they will be joining a small team and so will be expected to be willing and able to be multi-disciplined, flexible and often work out of their comfort zone!
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake S104 design reviews and issue technical approval to developers and consultant engineers to ensure wastewater assets are designed and constructed in line with ESPW’s design, specification and operational policies and procedures.
- Liaise with construction partners to offer technical support and guidance throughout the design and construction process.
- Support the wider ESPUG commercial team with technical expertise on wastewater adoption principles.
- Support the wider ESP Water team with new NAV submissions to Ofwat, in order to ensure that all commercial, procedural and regulatory documents are completed.
- Support the Wastewater Network Manager by demonstrating excellence in technical design matters.
- Develop effective relationships with other WASCOs concerning NAV connection and commercial processes.
- Support the Wastewater Network Manager with reporting, monitoring (KPIs) and compliance with all design policies and standards.
- Input into the review of the status, adequacy and effectiveness of the asset maintenance regime, safety policies and technical standards.
- Ensure that the requirements of ESPUG’s Health and Safety, Environmental and Asset Management Policies are met.
- Ensure that the quality, environmental and statutory requirements of ESP Water’s NAV licenses are met and where practicable exceeded.
Key Skills
- Significant experience in the wastewater design (S104) sector with specific knowledge of design, delivery, installation, operation and maintenance. Experience gained within the context of a water company Developer Services role, a Drainage design consultancy or Developer would be advantageous.
- Qualified Incorporate Engineer (IEng) or equivalent qualification desirable; or proven relevant experience, with interest to become qualified.
- In depth knowledge of the relevant water industry Standards, Recommendations, Specifications and Legislation relevant to the construction and operation of wastewater distribution networks.
- Operational, design and regulatory knowledge of environmental and other regulations pertinent to wastewater network operations.
- Knowledge of the selection and procurement of materials to be used in the construction of wastewater distribution networks, and the selection and management of contractors and construction partners.
- An innovative approach to problem solving. Brings an energetic and curious approach to problem solving.
- Ability to innovate and to embed continuous improvement and innovation through a team.
- An ability to adopt a wider perspective than the immediate bounds of the job description.
- Flexible approach to working on activities across the water team.
- Computer literate.
