Terra Tek Ltd, part of the Igne Group of companies, is seeking a Laboratory Technician - Construction Materials Testing to join its team in Bellshill. If you’re imagining working in a sterile environment with a white coat, this is not the laboratory role. We test ground and soil samples with the very latest technology to support our construction sector clients to find cost-effective solutions for their building projects.

We are happy to consider someone with no experience, looking to start their career in a new sector or someone who has operated in a similar role. What we do need is a willingness to learn, to be happy getting your hands dirty, and be able to move samples that can weigh in excess of 15kg. In return, we will provide a full-time job with excellent rates of pay and overtime (both in the week and over the weekend), and the opportunity to work in an exciting and growing sector along with excellent career opportunities. A Laboratory Technician’s Key Responsibilities:

  • Testing various construction materials e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt
  • Completion of test sheets and data entry onto tablets
  • Liaise with senior members of staff on work schedules and testing procedures
  • Work within in-house quality assurance systems
  • Maintain high levels of health and safety in line with company policies

Your Qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent

About You:

  • You will need good communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Manual handling and physical activity are daily requirements – samples can weigh in excess of 15kg
  • You must be confident to work in a team environment

Salary & Benefits:

  • Basic salary is £26,208
  • Overtime available after 40 hours at a rate of x1.25 and x1.5 on Saturdays and x2 on Sundays
  • 33 days’ holiday, inclusive of bank holidays
  • Continual training and development
