- Prepare Cat Modelling Submission Data for outward partners, using the FireAnt software to produce exposure files, modelling files, and summary documents.
- Model prospective outward programmes for these lines of business, offering metrics on pricing, capital implications, and expected profitability impact.
- Create and manage CEDE databases to store and process exposure data, ensuring data integrity by performing quality checks, and carrying out comparative analysis across different quarters, lines of business and model versions.
- Engage with Underwriters and Planning Teams to optimize PML and capital deployment by lines and region based on an agreed range of metrics.
- Maintain an up-to-date business plan at a layer level within FireAnt, to provide forecast metrics and how we track versus plan.
- Collaborate with IT Development teams to enhance efficiencies for rollups, validations, and ad hoc requests.
- Support day-to-day Portfolio processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of outputs, with development-focused mindset to support the ongoing improvement of policies and processes.
5-8 years of experience in a Portfolio/Exposure Management/Cat Modelling role OR a nearly/newly qualified actuary with a relevant Pricing background within Reinsurance/Insurance.
- Able to analyse raw Cat Model output to determine contract pricing and assess implications on PML and capital.
- Strong SQL (or alternative code) and Excel skills are essential, with Python skills desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to combine technical analysis with judgment to provide insights for commercial decision-makers, while appropriately considering analytical limitations.
- Comfortable working under deadlines and adjusting analysis for evolving business questions.
